This scheme is named- Round Up& Donate, wherein the collected donations will go to one organization only, according to sources.

Above: How Lyft's Round Up & Donate feature will appear in-app. If you're selected to participate, Lyft will ask you if you want to opt in or not, and then you'll be able to select a charity at the end of your ride. The service will roll out to Lyft riders over the next few weeks. You made it. And whether you tap in, or just do your bit by riding, you're sitting on a changemaker.

Lyfy, long considered the also-ran in the first wave of ridesharing companies, has long positioned itself as the company that cares, as opposed to Uber's reputation as the "ruthless corporation".

Lyft is all set to link charity with its rides.

As his ride-hail company continues to benefit from the ongoing struggles of its top rival Uber, the extremely rich executive took a moment out of his busy schedule rescuing kittens or whatever to chat it up with Time. He said being a driver for these ride share companies allows him to make his own schedule and to make a decent amount of money. They also keep big pink moustaches on their vehicle's grills, to show their pride of being a Lyft driver. The Republican-led Senate and Cuomo agree on an expansion proposal; legislation in the Assembly would give local governments the right to regulate Uber and Lyft.

But Uber's explosive growth has come at a cost. CEO Travis Kalanick has said he needs leadership help and is seeking a second in command. Uber is investigating public allegations of sexual harassment of women at its offices, and the hashtag #DeleteUber has trended on social media.
