A Florida woman and her boyfriend were arguing about house and vehicle keys before he fatally shot her and wounded five others, including her two grade-school age sons, police said Monday.

Sanford police said Allen D. Cashe was arrested in connection with the shootings, which were reported around 6:20 a.m. on Hays Drive and West 24th Street, a few blocks south of Goldsboro Elementary School.

Branden's younger brother Brendon, 7, remains in critical condition at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando.

"We are deeply saddened to learn that one of the young student victims of yesterday's horrific and senseless shooting has passed away from his wounds".

One adult died. The other adult and the two children were taken to a hospital in critical condition, investigators said. He had committed no crime until the shootings, the chief said.

Police said that Cashe did not have any weapons on him at the time.

"It was a basic civil matter", Smith said. They are in stable condition, police said. Smith supported his officer's actions.

An AK-47 rifle was found in Cashe's vehicle.

"Part of the issues that come into place is that we have so many victims". Our hearts and prayers are with his family during this tragedy. "It appears that three of the victims attend Seminole County Schools and we are working with both the Sanford Police Department and Seminole County Sheriff's Office to determine the students' names and schools", said Walt Griffin, superintendent of Seminole County Public Schools.

Upon seeing Officer Ivanov, Cashe ran from Seminole Gardens, but was apprehended by Ivanoff, and taken into custody without further incident.

Officials said the 9mm Glock was not used in the shootings, and at no time did Cashe possess or handle it.
