See the tracklist - including "Lady B. Goode", "a spiritual sequel to the iconic "Johnny B. Goode" featuring ripping solos from three generations of Berry guitarists" - below and hear "Big Boys" above. "We learnt so many things from him which led us into a dream world of rock 'n" roll music".
"When I was just a little boy like you, I wanted to do the things the big boys do", sings Chuck over rollicking pianos and buzzing guitar, in what is quite possibly not an ode to getting a National Insurance number.
On Monday, Berry's family - who released a statement on his death late Saturday - addressed questions over the status of the star's previously announced final album, Chuck.
Even at the age of 90, Chuck Berry's rock'n'roll energy refused to dim.
"It was recorded and produced by Berry in various studios around St. Louis and features his longtime hometown backing group - including his children Charles Berry Jr".
"Working to prepare the release of this record in recent months and in fact over the last several years brought Chuck a great sense of joy and satisfaction", the family said in a statement, posted to Berry's Facebook. Its 10 tracks include eight originals, some of which were originally conceived in the '80s.
He worked on the album until 2015, when health concerns forced him to stop touring and recording, but continued to oversee production and planning for the record.
However, until that day comes fans and celebrities a like have paid tribute to the first ever Rock and Roll Hall inductee by posting their condolences on Twitter, Instagram, and by performing his cover of his songs in his honor. It includes guest appearances by modern-day blues-rock guitar hero Gary Clark Jr, Nathaniel Rateliff and Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave and Prophets of Rage, among others.
