1 dead in Vegas Strip shooting, gunman barricaded in bus

Police said it is unknown what provoked the shooting.

Las Vegas police are at the scene of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Saturday afternoon. Officers believe the suspect is on a bus on the Strip and are treating this as a barricade situation.

Two blocks of the Las Vegas Strip were shut down, and hotel guests were ordered to stay in their rooms.

Police closed portions of the strip, and set up a staging area and a barricade. The Cosmopolitan has been evacuated.

At 1 p.m. Saturday, authorities reported a second victim had been killed.

Las Vegas Metro Police are now in a standoff with an unnamed suspect following a deadly shooting on the city's world famous strip. It was stopped outside the Paris Hotel and Casino. One of the victims has since died.

Police have confirmed one person has been shot and transported to UMC Trauma.

Two people were taken to a hospital, while police negotiators try to persuade the gunman to surrender.
