Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is disputing a report the team was unhappy the Oklahoma City Thunder didn't honor Kevin Durant prior to his first game back at Chesapeake Arena on February 11.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook (0) shoots over Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant, right, in the first quarter of an NBA basketball game in Oklahoma City, Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017. He sprained his knee at the start of March, but an anonymous-sourced ESPN article published this morning says KD's left MCL isn't the only owie being nursed by the team. Unexpectedly, Durant was met with vitriol as Thunder fans rained down insults and chants throughout the contest.

Kevin Durant received a less-than-warm welcome from the Oklahoma City crowd in his first game back as a member of the Golden State Warriors.

According to ESPN, the Warriors expected Thunder brass to address the media in a press conference to proactively bring calm to Durant's return earlier this year.

We'll give another point to Westbrook - as if he needs it. Can he get a measure of redemption with Durant out?

"We are fortunate to have people like Russell, Nick, Steven and Billy in place, individuals who care deeply about the Thunder and what it stands for in our community and who are proud of their contributions to date, yet driven and honored to write our next chapter together".

The streaky Doug McDermott had 21 points in 21 minutes off the bench for the Thunder, while Georgios Papagiannis had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Sacramento.

The Warriors will be in Oklahoma City once again tonight. "We just need to focus on the defensive end, play with an edge".
