Drake Finally Releases "More Life"…Was It Worth The Wait?

DRAKE also broke the Best One-Day streams record with 76,355,041 on MARCH 19th, topping SHEERAN's total of 68,695,172 streams on MARCH 3rd. And yet, when Drake's new "playlist" More Life appeared on Saturday, there was no new track featuring Ms. Lopez.

The tracklist includes the likes of Kanye West, Young Thug, 2 Chainz, Quavo, Travis Scott, and Giggs.

There's no fake-Jamaican patois, gloomy tales of fame or any other Views-era Drake gimmicks on this track, one of his few new tracks that could feasibly fit at home on any of his previous releases.

Even on the intro "Free Smoke", Drake addresses the ghostwriting rumors that Meek started, using them as an opportunity to speak on the eventual outcome of their beef: "Ghostwritin' rumors turn you to a ghost?"

The opening track 'Free Smoke' features the line "I drunk text J-Lo / Old number so it bounce back / Boi-1da got the bounce back", suggesting that J-Lo has iced him out since past year. "More Life", he wrote in part on an editor's note to the project on Apple Music, according to Complex. It seems Drake's newest obsession is the United Kingdom as he features grime artists, Giggs and Skepta. He plays it off like he's not even trying- the term playlist implies something fleeting, as if Drake is just trying to get this hour-and-half of music off his mind. And there are plenty of guest artists that might convince you to take a listen. And later, on the song "Teenage Fever", about a failed relationship, Drake tells a lady friend she's "to blame for what could have been" before singing the hook from the J. Lo classic "If You Had My Love".

Dare I say JLo used to call Drake on his cell phone, but no more. Fans have been waiting patiently ever since. "But that attitude will just hold you back in this life".

"I know I said top five, but I'm top two / And I'm not two and I got one / Thought you had one, but it's not one", raps Drake, claiming his spot as the best in hip-hop.
