With more than 5,000 visitors attending the first day alone - including CEOs, architects, airport and airline executives, suppliers and key decision makers from across the world - Passenger Terminal Expo provided the flawless setting for the prestigious award announcements.
This year's winners are based on survey questionnaires completed by 13.82 million airline customers of 105 different nationalities, between July 2016 and February 2017.
The Skytrax win comes one week after MSP International won another award, Best Airport in North America in its size category for service quality, based on surveys conducted by Airports Council International.
Cincinnati finished as the highest-ranked US airport among the world's top 100 overall airport rankings, finishing 26th.
Regional airports refer to the airports operating short global and domestic flights, rather than having a vast intercontinental network.
SKYTRAX World Airport Awards are coveted Quality accolades for the world airport industry.
Hong Kong was ranked in fifth position this year, falling behind Munich Airport in Germany, Incheon International Airport in South Korea and Tokyo International Airport in Japan. "From amenities such as the pedestrian tunnel, shuttle service, full-service lounges, proximity to downtown and shorter lines to the award-winning airlines, this top global ranking further demonstrates that the airport is recognized as a world-class facility that drives business, creates jobs, facilitates tourism and serves as an important gateway to Toronto".
