Would Duke vs North Carolina in the NCAA title game be good?

In no particular order, here are five teams that got the short end of the stick on Sunday afternoon.

"It feels unbelievable. I easily could have just thrown in the towel and kind of made excuses for myself and my team, but I really tried to stay positive throughout the whole process and put my frustrations and work ethic into getting better individually and as a team", Greenwell said. Instead, they were put in the same region as the No. 1 overall seed in Villanova.

The freshman forward's stat line from the ACC tournament doesn't tell all of the story. It all comes down to a simple fact: no one had more good wins than Mike Krzyzewski's group.

The other five teams: North Carolina (RPI 3, Pom 4, BPI 3, KPI 7, RPI SOS 12); Gonzaga (8, 1, 2, 3, 76); Kentucky (5, 4, 10, 4, 15), OR (6, 16, 13, 11, 49) and Arizona (3, 22, 23, 5, 32). The Blue Devils' title odds opened at 5/1.

So, how far will the Blue Devils advance?

The ACC's history is largely as an eight-team tournament before expansion. If the Heels sweep the Blue Devils next season and even beat them in the ACC Tournament in an ultimate 3 game sweep in April 2018, Duke can always say we won the National Championship. I love Villanova's sophomore point guard Jalen Brunson, but Duke is finally healthy and peaking at the right time.

Burton had 16 points and Thomas finished with 12 for the fourth-seeded Cyclones (23-10), who will enter the NCAA Tournament as one of the nation's hottest teams. Danged if two of those teams, Kentucky and Florida, didn't reach the Final Four. Kansas has the two losses to non-tourney teams but has otherwise done enough.

No. 4 seed Purdue minus-10 vs.

Boeheim, you'll recall, once lamented the lack of restaurants in Greensboro - the traditional site for the ACC Tournament - compared to Syracuse's history of playing the Big East Tournament in NY. Duke's overall strength of schedule is 10 by the RPI.

Wichita State is a classic case of a not great resume pulling down a really good team. In doing so, I now believe they have moved into the final #1 seed, surpassing North Carolina and holding off Kentucky (who still plays in the SEC final today) and Arizona.

OR is still somewhat in the picture with a 30-4 overall record should the Ducks top Arizona in the Pac-12 Championship Game late on Saturday night, and Kentucky is also lurking. One of them did not. Four years later, Michigan State assumed the role, and those Spartans became the eighth No. 2 to lose to a No. 15, falling to Middle Tennessee.

Villanova is the only other team that can match that number of wins vs. teams in the field.

The Wildcats had a target on their backs all season as the defending national champions, but they dodged most of the punches thrown their way. MI beat Wisconsin to win the Big Ten, but both of those teams were going to be in the field regardless.

Kansas is the top seed in the Midwest Region with a 28-4 record.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE: In Hartford, Conn., Gary Clark scored 24 points to lead No. 15 Cincinnati to an 81-71 win over UConn in the semifinals. It'd be fun, though! It is ranked No. 21 in KenPom and No. 30 in RPI.
