Emergency relief efforts have been undertaken, involving soldiers, police, personnel of local search and rescue office and disaster management agency office as well as Red Cross, Sutopo said.
"I think that's one factor that when rain falls constantly, it causes a landslide", he told AAP on Friday.
The national weather agency said heavy rain would continue in Bali on Saturday and Sunday.
Indonesia's National Disaster Agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho informed media that more heavy rains would occur in the coming days that could potentially cause landslides and floods.
Landslides and flooding are common in Indonesia, particularly during the months-long rainy season which peaks in January and February.
