Looks like Donald Trump may still be in the market for some inauguration performers. Radar Online claimed that Anka would sing "My Way", as President-elect Donald Trump and future First Lady Melania Trump shared their first dance.

A source close to Anka told Radar that "Paul was asked by the members of the Trump inauguration committee and he was only too happy to do it for his longtime friend".

Anka revealed the news to TMZ in a video and said that while he has been friends with Trump for a long time, a custody battle caused a scheduling conflict.

In a video interview with TMZ, Anka explained how he's now involved in a two-year custody battle over his son, Ethan.

As for the boycotting of his potential involvement, Anka said, "I have a respect for the office of the presidency and an American, and I was doing it in terms of what's good for our country and respecting the presidency". Including such esteemed and varied musicians as Elton John, Andrea Bocelli, and Moby, such rejections have managed to bring further tensions around the event. The 75-year-old was reportedly going to customize the lyrics of the song to reflect the political journey of the new Commander-in-Chief.

There were mixed reactions on Twitter about Anka's inaugural performance.

Which brings me right back to that initial question - is Anka a Trump supporter?
